29/07/2010 - Killinghall Evening League side promotedKillinghall's evening league side secured promotion last night after beating Little Ribston by 37 runs in a winner takes all fixture.
With the winner of last nights game taking promotion the pressure was on both teams, on what was a difficult wicket for batting.
After being inserted by the opposition Killinghall lost J Russell (2) early before A Dobby (22) and An Thompson (46) built a solid foundation which was built on by S Copley (21). Wickets continued to fall regularly with no other batsman reaching double figures. The innings closed on a very respectable 119 for 9.
Killinghall's bowlers soon set about defending the target with aplomb. B Crawfurd-porter (1-7) restricting the scoring, with J Jackson (2-5) also bowling a miserly spell. With the required run rate rising rapidly H Ashman (0-16) and An Thompson (1-22) maintained the pressure on the batsman. S Copley (3-19) saw the victory home, restricting Ribston to 82 for 8.
Well played lads.

08/07/2010 - Killinghall 3rd Team Defeated in Cup FinalKillinghall 3rd Teams run to the final of the Peter Bentley Cup ended in dissappointment as they were defeated in the final at South Kilvington.
Posting a total of 83 in 18 overs, thanks largely to 32 not out from skipper Mark Morrell, was always going to be difficult to defend on a small ground.
The run to the final has seen them defeat several teams from the division above, including a nail biting one run victory in the semi final against Ripon. Their focus now switches to the league campaign with the team looking to push on towards promotion in the second half of the season.
07/07/2010 - Under 15s maintain 100% recordKillinghall's Under 15s team maintained their 100% start to the league this season on Sunday and are now unbeaten in 7 games. The team are almost certain of a place in the play off finals to be held on the 5th September at Studley Royal.
Team manager and coach James Crawfurd-Porter commented "The lads have had a terrific start to the season, but we need to maintain our focus for the remaining group games to ensure that come play off finals day we are in prime form".
Good luck lads for the rest of the season.

16/08/2009 - Killinghall 1st XI win CupKillinghall 1st XI won the Aktinson Swires Cup by 4 wickets against Pannal at Pateley Bridge to record their 8th success in this competition in the last 11 years.
Fielding first, Killinghall got off to the best possible start with T Durrance (4-26) claiming a wicket with the first ball of the match. Tight bowling backed up by some tight fielding kept the squeeze on Pannal, who found themselves 86-6 just past the midway point in their innings. C Base (2-40) claiming two vital wickets in an over. Misery bowling from M Sweeney, who's figure were 0-13 from 8 overs, frustrated the batsmen while wickets continued to tumble at the other end. The innings finished on 170 all out with skipper R Danby claiming the final wicket.
In reply, Killinghall lost R Danby in the second over, caught behind for 0. However, some lusty blows from J Overend kept the scoreboard ticking whilst M Sweeney was content to play himself in. But once Jos had been caught in the deep, and T Durrance caught at square leg with the score on 30 the match was evenly poised. Worse was to follow when C Base was caught behind and very next ball J Lancaster followed in the same fashion. At 50-5 Killinghall looked up against it. However M Sweeney set about chasing down the total, he just needed someone to stay with him. Support came in the form of A Thomson (24) and D Bentley (33 not out) who saw Killinghall home with two overs to spare.
Mick Sweeney carried his bat for 77 not out which combined with his bowling efforts deserved to be named man of the match.
What made the result all the more special was the fact that Killinghall were missing half their recognised first team and were underdogs coming into the final.
Great effort lads!!

14/07/2009 - Killinghall 2nd XI win Reserve KOKillinghall 2nd XI won the Reserve KO competition after a tense 3 run win over Sharow 1st XI at West Tanfield.
After winning the toss and batting first Killinghall were indebted to the effort of Nige Pennock (58 not out) who batted through the innings to help Killinghall post a modest total of 103 after 18 overs.
In reply early wickets from M Keith (2-17) and J Lancaster (4-41) restricted the runs and built up the pressure on the batting team, backed up by some excellent wicket keeping and fielding.
With the light fading quickly and a storm brewing on the horizon, J Lancaster took two wickets in the final over to ensure Killinghall wrapped up the victory by three runs. Top effort lads!!!

02/06/2009 - Killinghall 2nd XI win in reserve knockoutKillinghall 2nd XI beat Pannal 2nd XI to reach the quarter finals of the Reserve knockout competition.
Batting first, Killinghall set a respectable total of 153-8 thanks largely to 61 from J Lancaster and 35 not out from A Bellerby.
In reply a combination of early wickets, tight bowling and committed fielding restricted Pannal to 137 for 8 with S Copley (3-28), M Keith (2-36), J Lancaster (2-37) and A Thompson (1-22) doing the damage.

Batting first, Killinghall amassed 187 in their 16 overs, with J Lancaster (76) and S Copley (40) providing the runs. James will be dissappointed not to convert his second 50 in a week into a bigger score, especially given the manner of the two dismissals.
In reply Pateley fell 16 short of target after M Keith (4-54), J Lancaster (1-50), A Thompson (1-28), and S Copley (1-33) took wickets on a regular basis, backed up by some tidy work in the field.
